Posted September 24th, 2011 - 6:13 pm by from Vancouver, Canada (Permalink)
I am looking to practice my Norwegian with someone. Its not everyday, I come across people who speak Norwegian. I will like to have someone to speak it with before it totally fades away. Tusen Takk

Hei Hei!

I just moved to Vancouver and speak a bit of Norwegian! I would definitely be up to some practice so that I don't lose it.

Did you live in Norway and for how long. Are you Norwegian???

I haven't lived in Norway. I studied Norwegian at university and spent the summer at the University of Oslo. My family is Norwegian, but no one speaks the language anymore.

Er Dansk godt nok? If you want to try Danish - Norwegian communication, I'm up for it!

I find Danish a little hard to understand (kind of ironic hey?), but am always willing to try.
Also, I found this place in Burnaby, The Scandinavian Community Centre, that deals a little bit with stuff from all the Scandinavian countries! I just started going to the Norwegian language group there, I am not sure if there is a language group for all the Scandinavian languages, but it is a pretty interesting place and has tons of events going on.

Last year or the year before, I wanted to enrol in the Norwegian class, but lost track of time. How is the class going by the way. How do you find the course? What level are you in?

Du snakker Dansk? Danish is a tad bit harder but I don't see why I can't learn it. Tusen takk
