Interested in playing Eclipse?
Posted September 19th, 2012 - 10:50 am by from Paris, France (Permalink)
Hi all, my first post here.

I'm quite excited to play Eclipse (see http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B006L7KIWG/ref=pe_54161_31912311_pe_vfe_dt1) - getting a lot of good reviews and my friend will not stop talking about it. :)

Unfortunately I can't organise a meetup as my flat is much too small to host a group - but I'd be happy to buy a copy of Eclipse (or anything else someone is excited about) and get involved that way.

thanks,
Ben

More generally, are there any meetups going on? This group is very quiet...

Hi Ben,

Nice idea. I don't know this game, and honestly,I think it will be very difficult for me to play with people who don't speak French - Unless I can check the rules before.

I'm very excited about the idea of discovering new games, so why not ? But, my flat would be too small to host a big group (4 at best).

Keep me in touch,
Take care,
P.

Hello,

long time since i had a boardgame meeting ^_^

i don't know this game and i'll be happy to discover it too.

i live in a house (we're soon moving but still ok to use it if you're not too strict on tidyness :p) and i would probably host if needed, just i don't live in paris, but near versailles, so some people might be ... "lazy" to come in the "countryside" :D

anyway i'm up depending on when you plan to do that !!

will try to see if i can be lend this game !!

Hi all,

Glad to see there is some interest! Basically I just wanted to see if anyone was interested in a meetup and decided to get the ball dice rolling.

Geoffrey if you have space then feel free to arrange something - I only suggested Eclipse because it is new and interesting, I'm quite open to anything though! Personally I'd be quite happy to go down to versailles.

Shall I go ahead and get a copy of this? I'm kinda on the brink of buying it anyway...

I do own the game (which is really awesome by the way!), and I can organize something, my flat is big enough and pretty central (near gare de l'est). The game is pretty long, though, so it will probably have to be on a week-end.
Maybe October 6th or 7th?

Thanks for proposing Sylvain !
October 6th is ok for me. I recently bought'Arkham Horror', and I can get '7Wonders' if you are interested in.

Okay. Well, let me suggest the following thing:
I'll organize this either on the October 6th-7th week-end or on the following one (13th-14th), depending on when I can gather the most people. So, if you're interested, just tell me when you can.

Well it looks like there are not enough interested people, so I guess I'll cancel it for now.

Hi everyone!

I created this thread then went offline for nearly a month - it looks like something was organised though? Did a meet-up take place?

If not, Sylvain do are you still interested in hosting something? I'm not too far from gare de l'est myself so it's lucky. ;)

Geoffery you too, hopefully your work is ok.

Another idea, if people are interested, is that the cafe at Buttes Chaumont has plenty of space (it even has space for hire, though I think we wouldn't need this much) and is open until minuit in the week and at weekends.

Hope we can work out some kind of meet-up - especially since it seems we have a good selection of games between us!

Hi,

I've been a bit busy myself. I can suggest we do it on November 11th (it's a sunday). I also have a friend who would like to try, so two more people would be enough.

Sylvain.

hahaha so fun we all busy, i went back from vacation but i'm moving out of my present house ... and still don't know where i'll go so i can't host for now but i'm ok to come more or less wherever it'll be except maybe this week (moving) .... and not the 11st of november unfortunately i won't be available i'll probably come back late.

else, what i can propose, is, i'm member of a board game association which meet every friday night from 8pm to late in the morning if needed ^_^

so if people can come to the RER C Saint Quentin en Yvelines stop, i can pick them and drive them to the party and we enjoy easily the night. they have room and if bringing games is complicated ... they have douzen of them.

what do you guys think ?
