Hello from a traveler to Istanbul
Posted August 9th, 2012 - 9:42 am by from Tehran, Iran (Permalink)
Hi everyone. How is everything going on in your place?I am Iranian and I have planned to visit Istanbul with my mom and friend on 25-31 august.I have reserved my hotel so I don't need a place to stay.I will just be so happy to get any advice and help and making Turkish friends. As my mom speaks "Azerbaijani" fluently,I am sure that my trip would be a great pleasure.
Waiting to hear from you;)

Hello Ida Dr.
I am living in Istanbul and i'll be very happy to be friends with you and your family. i'll be around by the time you arrive Istanbul and i can help you roam around the city as much as i can. i think communication will not be a problem at all. Have a great trip....

And advises for your trip in general...
1- aksaray - sultanahmet region for sure. it's also called "old city". you need to see sultanahmet mosque and blue mosque. you've got to visit "kapalicarsi" (grandbazaar) and "misir carsisi" (i don't know what they call this in english but one to one translation is Egyptian bazaar) and the old city streets full of interesting garments and stuff. You need to spend some time in eminonu also. then there is pierre loti. a nice place overlooking istanbul from a hilltop with nice cafes to chill and relax. you have to have a bhosphorus boat trip with a translator around you, so you will hear the stories of the places that you'll see on both sides. Princess islands are beautiful places to visit. but it'll take a whole day to go, visit and come back. other than these we have many museums that you can visit. one of them is Topkapi Palace; the palace of Ottoman Sultans for centuries now serving as a museum. You have to visit Topkapi Palace or your trip will be half done. Istiklal Street and the Taksim Square are places to see. I advise you to spend some time around here. We have splendid food and night life in Istanbul, too. And the malls to spend whatever you have left in your pockets.
I must have forgot to mention tons of places and activities but these are the ones that i could remember while writing.
So again i wish you a nice trip...
