Advice on visiting Turkey

Dear all,

First let me say how grateful I am for everyone in CS and their contribution to making my trip so wonderful in Istanbul and Ankara. You guys rock!

Second I spend one week in Turkey and I would say one has to be careful the most of taxi drivers and how they try to con you all the time. Find out exactly how much the ride costs. I knew how much the ride cost but the driver in Ankara used a much longer way to get to the airport so I ended up paying 3 times as much as I needed... as I didn't know how to argue in Turkish of course and didn't dare refuse to pay!! All experience...
Going to Ataturk on leaving, another taxi driver tried to pull another trick and I refused bluntly so everyone, don't be shy in Turkey just be straight and blunt if needed.

Don't hesitate to bargain everywhere as well, this is still a developing country and nothing, especially prices, is set in stone.
Otherwise I loved every bit of my stay.
Enjoy all, blessed be the people of Turkey and all in CS.
