Snowdrops - spring is in the air
Posted February 16th, 2010 - 9:04 am by from Grantham, England (Permalink)
Hi all,
I've joined CS a while ago but haven't quite got the hang of it. Planning and executing the garden makeover was my most recent project and I'm now waiting for everything to grow and me to watch! We've had a rather severe winter compared to other English winters. I live in England but grew up in Switzerland, so there are winters and winters!
It's great to welcome the snowdrops and aconites as spring can't be too far away now. Was on a website and found that there are hundreds of different snowdrops, some with only subtle differences but all just so very pretty. Hellebores are another plant which has not been flowering for Christmas (Christmas rose by another name) but shows up beautifully right now. Visited a nursery and was quite amazed at the colour combinations which have been developed - white, soft pink, rose, burgundy and even yellows. What is flowering or of interest in your garden? Look forward to hear from you - and of course - would love to host and show you round some of the English gardens.
