Buying Lenses for DSLR Camera
Posted September 19th, 2009 - 9:13 am by from Hong Kong Island, China (Permalink)

I'm just wondering, I'd like to buy at least a 2nd Hand lens(es) for my Canon DSLR and I don't know which one to buy... I'd like to take People's Portraits and Scenic Places... Can you please advice me and where to buy an affordable ones... There are some 2nd hand in asiaxpat.com but there are a few who sell lenses...

I'm also curious, can I also use lenses from other brand, like-let's say: "Nikon" for my Canon?

Thanks for your replies...

This is a pretty broad question and may be answered better at a forum like photo.net

You should maybe just go to a place like Champagne Court and ask them to show you a variety of second hand lenses... it's hard to really know what you like until you have a chance to try it on your own DSLR.

If you want to use Nikon F-mount lenses, you can buy a Chinese-made adaptor

Hello Nic,

Thanks for the Reply... Where can I find Champagne Court? I think I saw before but I don't remember where...

Can I put Nikon Lens on my Canon DSLR?

If you enter Kimberly Road in TST from Nathan Road, it's on the right hand side, not long after you pass Hotel Mira

Yes, I already said so. You can use Nikon F-mount lens if you get an adaptor for your Canon DSLR. I'm not sure how the quality is because I've never tried it, but I do have friends who do because they have too many Nikon F-mount lens left over.
