Get in touch with aboriginals

Hi everyone!

I'm writing a university project about how tourism affected aboriginal groups in Northern Territory and i'll be comming to Australia in may, and visiting the Northern Territory in July. I will try to get in touch with someone at the Uluru National Park to talk to, and it would be great if i could get in touch with some aboriginal town anywhere around the Territory. I've seen that most chances to visit an aboriginal settlement are organized tours which (apart from being really expensive which I'll not be able to afford) won't really allow me to find out much.

Does anyone have an idea, suggestion or anything that can be useful?
I would really appreciate it!

Thank you and see you soon ;)

Hi Cristina,

hope your project is coming along well and i hope your research will help tourism promote and preserve the aboriginal dreamtime and culture here in Australia.

I can't really help you with contacts in Alice Springs but may be able to if you would like me to ask around the indigenous community down here in melbourne for some contacts at Alice Springs?

Let me know how your going :)

Sorry to reopen an old threat.
Did you read and thought that Australia seam to be the closest example on the world of the book "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley?

I found more overseas people with the same idea.
I do not know what is the good path. :(
