you're welcome, tanya/danitza! there are a host of fascinating histories about the large migrant mix of populations in australia, but the theory that the classic aussie pie was first commercialised by catalans is an interesting one.
(speaking of cinema, i'll most likely be at the filmoteca today for a couple of nicholas ray films. and excuse my ignorance, but what does tune mean in this context? is it chilean slang for great?)
