Hi my fellow Surfers at and around the lake!

I once again try to get a team of locals together to have some things organized for our CS Group!
Just the pure knowing each other would help us to help our surfers who come along. If someone would like to see...let's say.. Tapolca and I know someone from there, I can easily pass this surfer to that guy to arrange a walk or something. On the other hand we can share experience and maybe some new people to the system can ask question and so on....
If for no other reason it is fun....maybe we just put up a stew in a pot on the fire and have a beer....and get knowing other people is, I think, the purest CouchSurfing spirit anyway!

I do have some experience with organizing such meetings!

First of all:
Who would be in to join that and if so would you prefer before 20th of august (high Season) or after 20th of august. Also I would like to ask about your preferred location!

So hit me with your ideas...

Yes, distances are quite among us.
Of course if only 3-5 of us is goingmeet, then we do not need a big place.
If bigger spaces would be needed my two ideas are two places of my two friends:
- Légli Major, Balatonboglár-Szőlőskislak (i am alwas pleased to go there. My friend Attila Légli, the potter is a really good guy and makes fantastic lecsó. Has 10+ cheap beds in the loft in one room. Once i organised a friends' gathering there, and it was a success. Légli wines are good anyway)
- The rural coutryside house of Huba Szeremley, near Kővágóörs. The house is in the woods partially, a bit far from any civilisation. Not wery well repaired. To confess it was stable before. Only for people with quite simple needs. Maybe with tents. Wines and stew ingredients can be get locally.
So i may ask them in case of interest.
maybe after 20th of August, i think.

Both offers sounds great!
I am in for both, but actually I was thinking of something much simpler, like having an ice cream or a drink together.. OK there is always the distance and the leak of public transport, but I think it could be organized. I can come by car and have space for another 4 in it.. so I can pick up people from the south west end or on the way to the northern shore if we choose to be there...

So.. What should it be? small meeting or stay for overnight!
Lets give our self a deadline.. lets say we decide that on Monday next week. Then I will organize an official CS meeting and send out invitations... Until then we are open for all suggestions!

Sounds good to me! I don't know the area well enough to suggest locations but I think if alcohol is involved it would be best to make it an overnight stay type event. I could pick up people from places west of the lake on my way.

And that is the question!
Should there be alcohol involved???

Ok, sorry! I know that that was a stupid question.. :)

I think that the date is surely should be after 20th of August.
However, we are going to be at Balatonfüred wine week tomorrow afternoon.

I definetly agree, to have it after the main season!

I will have some appointments which I don't know the dates yet by the end of the month, but as soon as I know them I will come up with some recommendations for the gathering.

I hope you are all still in!

You Balaton Couchers!

I am sorry for answering so late, but I had to wait until now to get my schedule updated.. Now I guess I have it cleared out! I will be off until 25th of August but then I hope to be at the lake for at least some days! So I would like to suggest the 25th for any kind of Group activity!

There might be some slight chance for good weather so outdoor gathering would be nice! Having a fire, maybe a stew or what soever! I recommend to agree on the date for now (25th afternoon, maybe evening) and decide on the "what" next weekend (20th) when we pretty much will know if we have to calculate on thunderstorms or sunshine... adapted to that we may come up with an appropriate activity for all of us! (Bike, sailing, cooking, caving..... what so ever!

clever? Do you agree?
if so, I will have a meeting officially arranged by CS system.. :)

We are going to meet at the Badacsony railway station. We will wait for the train from Budapest scheduled at 13:43.

After gathering up we will walk trough the win yards to Badacsonytöremic, a small village about 5 km away.
I hope there will be chances for wine- tasting and some food tasting on our way! In Badacsonytördemic we are taking a look at their old Postcard collection. Those who are in a hurry may take the train back to Badacsony, or where ever they want to go, for the hardcore guys among you we will try to find our way back to Badacsony, sadly again through the win yards or over the mountain top. Maybe we will have a nice sunset but for sure fantastic views over the lake.

The weather forecast is expecting 30°C and slight winds from the south, with clear sky! Be prepared for a hot day, bring some water with you and a hat because the sun will burn you!

I also would take a swimsuit with me, because hopefully there will be a chance to cool us down in the lake.

The trip itself is free but you might want to taste the wines and food! We try to keep it cheep!

See you at the train station!
