creating an Group Exhibition in Berlin?
Posted November 23rd, 2009 - 9:25 am by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
What would you think, if artists from Berlin organizes an exhibition together? I think we should have a try.

I am artist (installation, collage, drawings) and stage/Costume designer. I have now some time to start with these things.
I worked a lot in theater the last 4-5 years, so I don't know where to start, but I would like to start for example with the Gallery in Ballhaus Ost or different art spaces.
http://www.ballhausost.de/

Who has connections to Art Spaces or unusual interesting and funny art spaces in Berlin? There could be projects together possible, curated art pieces or exhibition with a special subject. For example drawings.
In my profile is the link to my homepage, so you could, if interested see in what direction my art is going to....

Maybe I will post it also in another group, because in this group are only 7 members...

Looking forward, Kata

Great idea Kata!

I would like to take part in the planning of such a thing. I am painting and writing, currently mostly writing. I love getting things together but have no great professional experience. My formal education is pottery and archaeology. Well, I have nothing yet for an exhibition but I love the idea. And there will be some time running while planning and getting it together.

A meeting to brainstorm and test the water would be nice...

Fine. Nice that you are interested.
It could be difficult, when you don't have a thing for exhibition. But there are a lot of possibilities to arrange it. Hope you are open for experimental stuff, like Installation, performance, abstract art.
Of course we can meet and discuss it. At the moment I am searching for a project space.

Ha det bra, Kata

Fine, some people are interested.
So I had some days ago a meeting in Ballhaus Ost, but the exhibition room costs rent (between 300 - 500,- €) and the exhibition is only for one week. Maybe this is not so interesting for us. In Stadtbad Oderberger Str. it costs also something. But I am not sure.
So we need another room. But where? Any space suggestions?
What about
http://www.idanowhere.com/
? We can ask there...

What would you think a about a project work?
I know only about two other artrooms, where only project work is the access.

Maybe soon I have a new studio with an very interesting room, where things could happen, but I first I must have a positive answer for the studio!

But...first we should meet and discuss and see what we can do with

PAINTING
WRiTINGS
DIGITAL ART
INSTALLATION
POTTERY

How big should be the place?
Can it be a gallery?

For summer projects - which can happen outside - I could probably arrange something.

Let me know.
