Safety issue / member dispute

Hi Eric,

Thank you for posting. I've never heard that kind of incident happened in Japan.

But I heard a similar story when I was hosted in Norway. FYI, I post it here.

A girl, coming from Asia, had been hosted by a male couchsurfer. The host had given her a key of the house. It's fairly common practice in Europe. She stole valuables , such as money, from his house while he was out. Next she rushed into an an embassy. As you know, the embassy is responsible for safty of their nationals. She claimed she had been raped by a male host!!! Consequently, this criminal case ended leaving unsettled. She left for her country without any problems. Stolen money didn't come back to him at all.

I don't confirm the story is true or not. But a bad man always try to cheat on ordinary people like that.

I've just read all the posts in the thread. It's quite serious! To spread safety information, I'll put it on CS日本語情報交換グループ. I think many Japanese CSer don't care about CS safety, unfortunately.
