Week 2 - Mission Task-Sharing

I suggest the following task division:

* Tech (video): Assess the feasibility of making anything video for the meeting, including but not restricted to Webcasts, youtube, videoconferencing, webcams, etc
* Tech (Chat): Finds one or more reliable and easy to use chat service for the entire meeting
* Activities (Work): Making sure we get our asses to work
* Activities (Fun): Making sure we do crazy silly stuff too
* Language coverage: Language is primarily English, but there could be sub-meets in other languages? Maybe in separate chat rooms? or in the global one at precise times ?
* Coordination&Logistics: Making sure this happens and that things go smoothly...
* Outreach: Communication to nomadic ambs, minute-taking, comm to general CS post event..


- If you take one task, you make it happen and have all powers on it..
- If for any reasons you suddenly can you HAVE to pass it to someone else or tell it to us ASAP.
- I'd like all the task to be shared by the end of the week
- It's not because you pick one that you can't give ideas on the others anymore, but just carry your part till the end too, it's ESSENTIAL

I obviously volunteer for Coordination&Logistics, unless anyone opposes their view.

Just ideas:
About the video and the chat, I think it can help to just have an online tool that everybody can use without installing a software, so we don't need to install anything if we are using another computer.
About facebook, I already post my opinion in the wiki page (you can delete it if you prefere only the answers here), I wrote that we already have a group and an event on CS, I'm not sure it will help to have another place to put information that not everybody will see...

Maybe it's better to talk about the tasks in different posts together and just update the wiki page when we have found a good compromise????
I think it's not only one person that have to take a decision, but all (or a majority) of the members that want join this online meeting.

The tasks were more meant as "someone is accountable to get this done" rather that "this person decides what gets done alone"... I'm all into consensus, but I don't like intellectual masturbation in a group - things gotta get done and communicated, otherwise it is demotivating.

Nobody really took initiative until now apart from me here - anybody else has a suggestion on how we should proceed? Because I'm not coordinating my own self only nor making this whole meeting happen alone.

I'm nomadic at the moment just as you are, and for the next months.. but am also involved in other stuff that I could invest more energy in. This means "if I'm the only one taking initiative here, this meeting won't happen, or will happen much later, when people take the time to make it happen.

I don't feel comfortable taking anything on as my internet is SO sporadic, but if anyone else is in the kinda same boat and would be willing to "co-take-charge"

I could help out with

Activities (Work), Activities (Fun), or Outreach

Ok it seems this will be harder than expected ... Nomadics are SO unreliable and/or overloaded!

I dunno, I have the feeling this meetup even in July is a bit too ambitious...

Maybe if we extend it to Amb online meeting rather than nomadic we'd find more easily tech support and resources from the Base...

Would that be an option to consider?

After mid-July I'll be staying in one place-ish and more reliable to help
