The NEXT step ...
OK, so you've gotten that house/pet sitting deal. Now what ... sit at home and knit, whittling the time away? Not so fast, check out the FREE guides that I've started creating so as to help you enjoy your new home stay ...
In the very beginning, I started the "FREE GUIDE" groups as a way to help other traveling CSers explore and enjoy the cities where I've visited & lived during my 5 years of continuous travel.
And I find it quite true that the visitor often also discovered better things & ways than the locals themselves as from my own experiences.
The goal thus is to become the best source for travel/sightseeing information, even better than any tourist information centers or guide books. Think of it, with this concept spreading to every city and small town, there's no need to depend on any visitor's bureau nor purchase any travel guide books (which many lesser known places and small towns are lacking anyway).
And now there's the opportunity to do so - ALL ONE HAS TO DO IS CONTRIBUTE A BIT OF GOOD USEFUL INFORMATION OR SECRET EVERY SO OFTEN.
Some of the GUIDES already started:
Miami & Miami Beach, FL, USA
Seattle, WA, USA
San Francisco, CA, USA
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Victoria, BC, Canada
Some of the GUIDES pending:
Sydney, NSW, Australia
Forgot to mention - ANYONE is welcome to start/create the FREE GUIDES for their own city, particular favorite place or even a place on their wish list. Then hopefully others will contribute and add to it as time goes by...
Feel free to copy & paste my guidelines and whatever etc. as well.
And if you needed any help, I'll be glad to oblige ....
This is great! Thanks. I'll try to contribute as soon as I get to my next CS hosts house where I will be cat-sitting for the second year in a row.! Huntington Beach Ca. Not in cold snowy Amarillo, this winter. Yea!!
We have good experience with house/pet sitting here in Europe but what a pity no one of the links you have posted is in Europe , perhaps you know some org. or people what will be in the need for clean house and pets sitters ?
we own our cocker spaniel greetings from me Michel and my wife Giovanna.
