Hello how are you?, I'm going to make a stupid question but I need to know. In Argentina we have trouble buying foreign currency at official price, making it more convenient to use credit card abroad. What I want to know is if all transportation and meals are handled by credit card and / or debit card and how much cash should have allowed for that card. I travel in March and I'll be a month or so for Germany. Thank you!
Hey, the same problem with the currency exists also in germany. credit card is not that common in germany, we usually use cash or debit card. You can use debit card nearly everywhere.

10€ a day are really tough. but it really depends where you are.
museum entrance fee ~7€
subway day ticket ~6,5€ (Frankfurt)
pasta in a restaurant ~ 8€ / steak ~ 16€
beer in restaurant ~3,5€
But still you can get cash with your credit card at almost any ATM. But it is not possible to pay with it at supermarkets usually. To me it is kind of strange as I am used to pay with it at even super small markets in Latin America. You should check how much the fees are when you get money from an ATM. I don't know if you have it over there, but i got me a credit card where they don't charge worldwide - only in Mexico they do, but it is the local banks.
Thank you very much everyone, I'm having a clearer picture, now I'll have to see how to get cash...
Cati I don´t know about the card you mention, but never heard of it around here...
The problem we have is that for any ATM withdrawals with the debit card, we have to have an account in dollars, and that's almost impossible with government tax obstacles.
