it's not only about Greek opinion ,women from east Europe specially from Russia & Ukraine are famous for that so depend to people .as you know some people think all are same but some body else never judge persons only by their nationality .that's a fact in the world & we should be ready to face with both kind of people as I explain.

actually I ignore people who only care your nationality & never try to know you, (I think is best way)

Hi honey!

I'm a Serbian girl in a relationship with a Greek guy. My experience with the_big_foreigner_thing was rather positive- I was accepted from the very begging.
As we all got more familiar with each other, I dared asking what were they first thoughts when they found out I was a Serb. The answer I got was: "For us, you are Greek." :)
I guess that my knowledge of Greek language helped a bit, so try learning few phrases, just in order to leave good impression.
Though, if you truly love your man, that will be all you need to impress his family. If you love each other, the success is guaranteed, and you need not worry.

Be yourself, keep your chin high, and good luck!

Best wishes from Athens!

The Decade of the 90, because of the trafficking, the reputation of women from Eastern Europe, created two myths. One was the fame that the women from Eastern Europe are of «liberal morals». The other said that all these women are beautiful. Of course none of this is true. The pre crisis Greeks considered as significant only the people originated from so-called rich-countries. Russia that time was weak and many people were forced to emigrate in order to find a job and why not to create a family. Hence it has been prevailed the rumor that Eastern women want to marry a wealthy man “to make their fortune”. Especially Greek Women professed that all these women from Eastern Europe were aiming to get their and their property. The "democratic" Greek State has passed a law to secure the Greek women who were separated from their men in order to marry much younger Russian women.
This view has been languished over the years. After the crisis, the rumor that Russian women are coming to Greece to make their fortune has been disappeared. But always there is a latent racism in a large part of the population. But I believe that if the man who you have picked out is good, all that have no importance. I am telling all these because I'm married with a Russian and my child is half Greek, half Russian. She is blonde with black eyes. In the small town where I live, there are many mixed families. I have noticed however that in general the Russian-speaking associate among themselves. I see on the playground where I go with my child that Russian women stay apart of the Greek society. I still believe that Greek women are suspicious to the Russian women. But children have no problem as nobody, children or adults, distinguish them from the other it is supposed pure Greek.

Hello Darya,

Good evening.

I lived most of my life in Cyprus and been to Greece several times.

Cypriots and Greeks are similar in many ways as well known, and I could only say that Greeks are wonderful people and with good heart.

I completely agree with what Dunya and Stefanos have already noted.

Wish you all the best and be prepared for a very warm welcome:)))

Best regards from cold Brussels,

Armen
