Posted June 11th, 2013 - 9:43 pm by from The Hague, Netherlands (Permalink)
Hello,

I've a question. In July I will go to Greece and start the trip in Thessaloníki and afterwards I will go to Alexandrouplis an Issakion. Does someone know a good website where I can find busschedules because the one whioh is mentioned doesn't work to well. I'm specially interested in the part Alexandrouplis Issakion because if Í'm correct there are plenty of buses going to Alexandropolis from Thessaloníki each day. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance.

Hello Bas!
Issakion is a village next to Didimoteiho (3,7 Km away).
There are, directly, bus routes from Thessaloniki (Macedonia intercity bus station) to Didimoteiho every day.
http://www.ktelmacedonia.gr/en/routes/tid=8#routes

In the same link you can find the routes Thessaloniki – Alexandroupoli

From Alexandroupoli to Didimoteiho there are bus routes nearly every hour, from 4:15 – 20:45.

Have a nice trip!

KTEL is expensive in my opinion

if there are trains to Aleksandroupoli check trainose.gr.

or if you don't have hurry, take the Alpar Turizm / Simeonidis which departs everyday at 21:00 from Thessaloniki and arrives to Aleksandropoli around 24:00 (not sure)
until İstanbul the price is 35€, so they may charge you 15 or 20€ i guess (I never heard someone bought like that, but bargain, they may give you a solution bc that bus goes empty until Aleksandroupoli and takes nearly half of the passangers from there or Xanthi)
