More than Budapest
Posted August 17th, 2012 - 1:35 pm by from Toronto, Canada (Permalink)
I am curretnly in Budapest and loving this great city, but I would really like to see more of the country before i move on. My schedule is really flexible, so I am open to different times and suggestions, but right now I am thnking to visit a bit of the west and/or the north sometime next week. If anyone is interested in joining, has some tips or would like to host/show me their part of the country that would be great.

The more the merrier of course but Szentendre is everything but boring!
It's the town of arts, there's always something going on at multiple locations, many of the people you walk by on the street are genuine painters, musicians, poets.

It has a "tourist trap" section, the contrast of knick-knack shops and genuine arts is an experience on its own.

Skanzen is a huge outdoor museum representing historical buildings and lifestyle from the different regions of the country:

Oh, and next weekend the whole town is open and in a festive state around the clock:

I would not say "plan" in the sense I could tell you times and locations, but yes, we'll definitely be there a few times throughout the three days. (We live just across the river, on Szentendre Island.)

I'll probably have to take my daughter to the Tom White concert on Saturday, she loved them in Kapolcs last year :-)
