Vegan traveling Croatia/Slovenia and Slovakia
Posted July 14th, 2012 - 4:03 pm by from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)
Hey everyone, I'm on a budget and want to know If you have any suggestions for eating vegan and maintaining my energy levels through Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia. Currently I live in Serbia for a short time and it's proven to be pretty difficult here. I will also take any advice on Poland as I will be moving there fall/winter. Any vegans want to travel with me from beg of August to end of September!? My iPad won't let me upload a pic of myself, but I'm happy to send you one:)

Hey Leslie, I know nothing about Slovakia but I'm also interested in vegan places there, so if you will discover something interesting, write about it here!

And there is my question to all Slovakia people (I think it's better to ask here than writing a new post, I hope you don't mind Leslie ;-)):
Describe to us your favorite vegan places in Slovakia! It could be Bratislava and I'm also interested in Kosice, while I'm going to spend there almost a month ;-)

Not only restaurant, but maybe there are some nice shops? :-)

Veganism in Slovakia depends on your budget and preferences, right now its pretty good fruit season, so you might be able to get some tasty watermelons, peaches, nectarines, prunes...if you wanna cook yourself its dirt cheap, if you wanna eat out, it might be easier in bigger towns like Bratislava, Zilina, Banska Bystrica, Kosice
if you have Qs, send me message:)

cheers

Hi guys - I'm not sure about the others but I know Croatia is great for vegans, well I found it great. Happycow.net of course is number one, but even in Zagreb there were plenty of flyers around for vego and vegan places (and even raw food - which I ate at probably 5 times in a week!). There is alot out there, even at restraunts if you go with others there are always side dishes that are vegan. But if you want the amazing vegan stuff we all love...head to the vegan specific places you find on happycow. Split also in Croatia was fabulous with two places there which were out of this world! Go for gold!!

Hi Leslie!

I'm a vegan Aussie girl travelling by bicycle at the moment through eastern europe. I am in Budapest right now, and will be heading to Slovakia (Brataslava) by Sunday or early next week. If you in or around these parts, let me know. I'll be then heading to Vienna, and up to Prague, and across to Poland within the weeks after that. No rush, no exact plans (i do have a friend in Prague though I'm staying with), but besides this thought it would be nice to hang out with another vegan (I have yet to meet one, actually I lie, I have met only one - in the last 2.5 months of travelling!). LEt me know if you are in any of these places at the same time or what your plans are and we an enjoy some good conversation, and some amazing vegan meals together :) Emily

How long you're going to stay in Bratislava? I'll be there, but on 10th September, just now I'm in Kosice.
