Any Vegan hosts/friends in Australia?
Posted September 4th, 2013 - 8:24 pm by from Cardiff, Wales (Permalink)
Hi everyone!
My name is Ella, I am 24 years old and my boyfriend and I will be travelling in Australia from the 21st October 2013 to the 13th January 2014 and would love to meet fellow vegans to stay with or just hang out with.

We are both from the UK, we have never been to Australia before and plan to explore and eat our way around the country!

We will be starting in Perth and will then be moving on to Mid/North Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and then finally NSW for Christmas and New Year.

If anyone would like to meet up with us, has any tips on where to go/stay/eat or would be kind enough to offer us a place to stay for a night or two we would really appreciate it.

Thanks guys!
Ella and Craig

Harley Johnstone is in Australia. I've never met him, but I enjoy his YouTube videos. His website is http://durianrider.com/

His g/f is vegan, too. She goes by Freelee on YouTube.

That sounds so exciting! I hope you enjoy your time in Australia. :)

I live in Newcastle, in NSW (it's a bit up the coast from Sydney) but unfortunately can't host anyone at the moment. :'(

But when you're in Sydney do yourself a favour and check out Newtown/Enmore/Glebe. They're the alternative kind of districts in the city.

In Newtown there are two raw vegan cafes I know of and a few other regular vegan places, (Raw On Enmore & Sadhana Kitchen) both of which have fantastic food.

In Glebe there is a vegetarian restaurant that has a large array of vegan options called Badde Manor that I frequent.

Also if you find yourself in Bondi check out Funky Pies which is a 100% vegan pie shop that has some of the most amazing pies and desserts all of which are healthy and so delicious. :)
