Dearest New Yorkers,

I am Gokche from İstanbul, Turkey..For a paper i need to prepare, i gotta learn as many slangs / idioms / clichés used by New Yorkers as possible.. i will especially need funny ones. Could you please write me some with the explanations? there are some websites for that but the ones on those websites arent so real or common so i wanted ask local CS New Yorker friends to help me .

it is sooo important for me, i would appreciate it.

I would definitely suggest taking a look at UrbanDictionary.com and OverheardInNewYork.com for your paper. Both are great sites for what you're looking for.

Is this a sociology paper?

A few of my favorites:
mad = very, really
grimey = backstabbing, dirty, wrong, bad, etc.
O.D. = over doing it, overdone, too much
sketch = short for sketchy; creepy, dubious, weird

"it's mad brick in here!" = "it's really cold in here"
"you're mad sketch" = you're very creepy
