Volunteer for free stay opportunity in Brooklyn Hostel
Posted May 11th, 2012 - 8:53 pm by from New York, United States (Permalink)
This is a perfect opportunity for a student or foreigner staying in NYC for a couple months (we have two months minimum for volunteers).

I manage a hostel in Brooklyn and we have some openings for our work exchange program - we have a full time and half time option.

- Duties include some cleaning, checking in guests and answering their questions, 1-2 loads of laundry (washing sheets) for each shift, etc.

You'll be sharing a room with other employees/a few long term guests

If you're interested, please check us out on facebook and fill out our work exchange application (tab on the left). MAKE SURE TO MENTION THAT YOU FOUND THE LINK ON COUCH SURFING - link to fb is below.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I am coming over to NYC Jan 13th - Mar 25th and would happily volunteer and receive my accommodation in return (food also?). Could you advise me please the current schedule as I do have some other arrangements 3 days per week in Times Square for my education, usually 10 - 4 but the hours may change. I am arriving on my ESTA a standard tourism visa so am unable to do any paid work so this volunteering would be fabulous. I work hard, currently work as the chef in a 4 star restaurant in a hotel in Sweden and have a little hotel experience back in England also and I am not shy with guests, they may even get bored of listening to me haha. If you have email I will send you my resume. Is linen etc included, What hours are you hoping for from me, since I will want to 'have a life' whilst in NYC as I have many friends I would like to visit, which is the main reason for the visit. I just want to be 100% sure that this will be for me, since you state 2 month minimum in the terms above.

Kind regards

Karen English chef in Sweden
