We are teaming up with City Harvest again ( www.cityharvest.org ). This time we get to have CSers interact with others. This seems like an amazing opportunity.

We have to be there @ 9amish on Saturday. I know its early, but I'm sure of you can make it out. I will have location details tomorrow (thursday). Its short notice, but I'm sure we can get 10 people to come out.

Mobile Market is a hands-on way to work with City Harvest staff to provide two valuable products: fresh produce and nutrition education. Every week City Harvest sets up an on-site market at one of our community food programs to distribute fresh produce to clients and provide them with nutrition education resources. Your company will assist in set-up, food distribution, and clean-up.

Working at Mobile Market is a great way for companies and organizations to promote team building. Teams of 5 to 25 volunteer at Mobile Market, staffing the produce distribution tables and interacting with people in the community.

If you can make it, please join the event AND email me with your phone number.

Here are the details from City Harvest.

Thank you for volunteering at the City Harvest Bronx Mobile Market on Saturday, October 10! In order to open up the pipelines and provide even more nutritious food to underserved areas, we launched our Mobile Market program in 2006, distributing fresh produce free of charge directly to New York City Housing Authority residents in farmer’s market-style settings. By supplying over 400,000 pounds of fresh produce in 2008, the Mobile Market provided people in the Melrose community with 30% of the fruits and vegetables they need for good health and development. These markets are staffed by volunteers and could not be run without your help. Please wear comfortable clothes that are, as this is an outdoor opportunity, weather appropriate. All participants must be over the age of 18.
