Santa Carnivale, Benefit for Belize, Dis be da partee fi we!
Posted November 11th, 2009 - 7:59 am by from Allentown, United States (Permalink)
Let's kick-off the weekend together and benefit a worthy cause: Literacy Outreach Belize. Santa Carnivale will be a crazy night of Santa shenanigans, Dance Contests, Belizean Music and treats. If you've never heard of Santa Con: Last year 2000 people dressed up in Santa, Elf, Reindeer, and Christmas tree outfits and paraded around the city together.

Once upon a time in 2005, after visiting Belize and seeing the need for help with literacy, I sold my home and all my stuff to create LOB. Thus far donated programs for 30,000 children throughout the country. It's been a wonderful experience, and I am returning once again to volunteer January to February. I need help to raise funds!

So, let's party together... $5 entrance includes 1 beer and entrance into the dance contest. Enjoy a Carnivale atmosphere: Belizean music. Punta Rock dance lessons and a Dance Contest! There will be a cash bar with the famous and delicious Panty Ripper drinks; a Belizean specialty! And Belizean treats to sample.

Help support Literacy Outreach Belize; there will be a multimedia show, literature on hand and loads of FUN! To learn more about what's already been accomplished visit www.storytellerkp.com

Hi Kristin,

I just joined the CSNY volunteer group because I am increasingly addicted to Couch Surfing and want to explore it more. If I can meet great new traveler friends and volunteer it would be a dream come true!

I checked out your site and can't tell you enough how inspiring your work is. Speaks to me on so many levels - I have taught elementary school and am a painter and also love learning Spanish and Latino culture. Story telling is so important for people everywhere to carry on traditions, be creative, find meaning in life. Thanks for what you do!

I hope to make it to your fundraiser event and meet you! =)
