Post-Valentine potluck dinner
Posted February 5th, 2012 - 8:39 am by from Guangfu, Taiwan (Permalink)
Thanks for Jodie, Timmy, and Andy's participation before the Chinese New Year. It sure was great having people in my tiny apartment for dinner!

Will try to host vegan/vegetarian potluck on a regular basis so that we can discuss recipe or health-related issues as well as other things about living in Taipei. As a nutrition major in college, I had been brain-washed by my professors to firmly believe that most of the ready-to-eat foods in Taiwan are TOXIC. Consequently, almost all foods I eat are organic AND vegan. So, please bring food that you prepare from scartch as much as possible--you don't need to grow them yourself though! And please don't forget to let me know what dish(es) you intend to bring here so that I can try to balance out the dishes. Thanks for indulging me for being a demanding host.

time: 2/17 Friday night 18:00-22:00
place: 100-2 4F Jinhua Street, Taipei
phone: 0929-530-334, 02-2358-4723

I. MRT about 10 min. walk
Got off at Guting MRT exit 5, keep walking on Heping E. Road. Turn left on JInshan S. Rd. (the 2nd trafic light, right at the corner of 7-11), keep walking north. Turn left at Jinhua Street (the 2nd trafic light again.)

Or get off at CKS Mrt exit 3. Find Jinhua Street (the small street at the back the the exit.) Walk for 2 blocks and you will find 100-2 on your right hand side. If you see Moss burger, you walked too far!

II.
It's more complicated to describe the directions for the bus stops, feel free to call me when you get off the bus.

III. BIKING! Have fun riding!

Glad to know that Sat. or Sun. is better for you guys. I'll leave it open to either Sat. or Fri. then. I thought ppl. might have plans for entertainments Sat. nights. Maybe more ppl. prefer Sat. nights, we'll see.

And thanks for offering the recipe. In fact, I'm not big on recipe at all, I usaully cook with whatever is available in the market. I just thought some ppl. might like to know other ways to cook the vegetables or tofu products.

Hope to see you.

I usually just make up my own stuff on the fly too, Michelle, and don't go by recipes, but I end up making my own recipes when I do this so I remember how to remake it if I really liked it.

Hope you all at fun and we'll join if there is one on Sat or Sun in the future.

Dear All,

Some members are available on Saturday nights instead of Friday nights. So if there are other members that are free on Saturday nights, please leave a message, maybe we will change to Saturday instead.

Dear All,

If you don't have access to a kitchen, you are more than welcome to bring all the ingredients and come earlier to cook in my kitchen. I should be home all afternoon, just indicate the time in your reply, thanks. For the seasonings needed, please give me the list. If I have any of them them, you will have one less thing to bring to my place...

And if the food is heavy, please call me 1-2 stops before Guting MRT. I can wait for you in front of exit 5 with my bike to carry the food. Even though it's only 7-10 min. walk, it's no fun carrying a lot of food like Jodie did last time.
