youtube and facebook both created the perfect integration with commercialism.

CS has not, CS has failed... is failing. Just like instagram is on the verge of doing.

CS doesnt have the user monopoly like facebook did to start ignoring the core users. Bringing in large amounts of one time 20 year old surfers is not going to keep the host side established. Slowly unless these changes are implemented better CS will lose its members and join myspace in the pits of hell.

Perhaps... but the business owner who ignores the preferences of their customers soon lose their gold. The CS sense of community has value, and it would be both sad for us and also bad business for the new managers to lose that.
