Place page where city group hasn't been migrated
Posted February 10th, 2013 - 11:00 pm by from Bath, England (Permalink)
The Bath place page ( https://www.couchsurfing.org/n/places/bath-united-kingdom ) was created a while after the place pages were rolled out, presumably because I reported it as a geographic anomaly (it's a big enough location in CS terms to warrant its own place page and not the next city's place page). This is good but the Bath group ( https://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=1244 ) hasn't been migrated to the place page.

I'm not currently able to keep up with the places pages discussions on the support forums so I'm not sure if this issue has happened to other locationsand what might be done about it. Are there any such discussions taking place anywhere?

Does anyone know what is planned for locations in such situations? Because the group hasn't been migrated, we're not able to add city guidelines to the Bath place page and our sub-groups don't show up on the Bath place page.

Can someone who is a 'moderator' of a place page give me an idea of whether I should be wanting us to be migrated or not? I like the existing group functionality but at the moment we're in a awkward half-way position with no control over the place page and two sets of discussions! The group functionality I particulary appreciate as a moderator is the following (in order):
1. Notified when people join group (allows me to write welcome messages which people seem to appreciate)
2. View group members
3. Ability to add people to group
Do place pages give these functions?

Many thanks!
Geoff
