I believe we shouldn't look at Bill, Sam and the rest of guys as just and only staff members. They can have smaller or bigger CS experience, but hey, there are still human beings. And if they smile a lot in their life, the better for them!

There's completely nothing wrong with expressing that with emoticons. After all, it's IT company. A bit of a geek company. Definitely not dresscode company. At least I don't want it to be. I want the guys to express their feelings and react as real people, not some kind of Walmart shop assistants.
