Thanks NMW

I was a part of CS for one year before I was sent a NMW letter. If it wasn't for the welcome letter coming into Denver,Colorado I might have never learnt about the community outside of hosting/surfing, the city groups etc.

Becoming more involved in the community really was a turning point for me I had some of the best experiences I could ever hope for because of the CS community.

I registered in 2005 and just after a few minutes, I got a welcome email from someone I didn't know. This made me feel right at home and shaped my global experience for years to come.

Thanks to everyone who donated time over years. You folks have contributed in building a beautiful community!

This thread actually prompted me to go back to read my first messages on CS (#1 out of 2198!). The member who welcomed me also turned out to be the first person to host me in London when I was a 19 years old kid, after a long streak of negative replies I got from the awful three-liners couchrequests I sent out as I was backpacking for the first time.

It definitely made me realise the importance of creating an actual, honest dialogue when requesting for a place to stay. So yeah, big cheers to the NMW crew!
