CS Ambassador group
Posted February 26th, 2013 - 7:56 am by from Brisbane, Australia (Permalink)
A few people have expressed a fear that the Ambassador program may be shut down soon, and/or that this group may be shut down.

If you are worried about that, then please join the FB group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/624603844222811/

Also, if you know people who are passionate about cultural exchange and hospitality communities who have previously been CS Ambs... or by rights probably should be CS Ambs, then please invite them to join also.

Please remember that a community is made up of the people involved, not the software we use. If this group becomes unavailable for any reason, we can still be a community of concerned couchsurfers, no matter where we chat.

Peace,
Temu

P.S. sorry if this is the umpteenth time you've seen this link. I'll stop posting it now. :)

+1 (ok, +1000000 *g*)
I also joined the FB group because only there Couchsurfers seem to be able to talk about Couchsurfing (in a way that is promoted by the CS guidlines).
I'd really love to talk here about CS. I'd love to help to improve CS. I'd love to make CS a even stronger and better community than it was (and not a worse one as it seems now). I'd love to promote CS as I did up to a few weeks ago.

Quoting Claudia: "Please improve the mood over here and give us back some positive vibes, some confidence and try to built up trust again."

And in addition: Talk to us about CS (and really talk, not some phrases to play bullshit bingo with). Ask a group of hundreds of experienced CS what we think. Take our support. We love to help you - if we get the same feeling back. Wikipedia didn't become what it is because some few people set up a whole encelopedia. It is that strong and good because they took the help of a big community that loved to support the project. Use the same effect for CS.

"another general generic CS group open to everyone and anyone"

You know this simply isn't true. As has been explained to you several times, the group is for CS Ambs & "old-timers"... including ex-Ambs and those people who are for all intents and purposes are Ambs because of their extensive contributions over many years.

I am baffled why you would write something like that when you know it isn't true.

If you don't want to be involved, that is entirely your pejorative. Nobody is forced to interact with other members of the CS community. To each their own.

My post didn't attack nor insult you, but I'm sorry that you feel hurt.

I just pointed out your error. You wrote "another general generic CS group open to everyone and anyone", which just simply isn't true.

It was never true. It still isn't true. It never will be true. You knew it wasn't true. I think the truth is important.

I haven't attacked you Edward. Relax.

I agree there is no need to re-do the argument. I wasn't trying to argue. I just needed to point out your error, in case anybody thought it was true.

You wrote "another general generic CS group open to everyone and anyone", which just simply isn't true. It was never true. It still isn't true. It never will be true. You knew it wasn't true. I think the truth is important.

I understand that you don't want to join. That is fine. To each their own.

Thanks for your long response Edward. My only point has been to correct an error you made in your first comment.

You wrote "another general generic CS group open to everyone and anyone", which just simply isn't true. It was never true. It still isn't true. It never will be true. You knew it wasn't true. I think the truth is important.
