Yes, Quetzal, but if the sign over the door last week said 'balcony', and now says 'exit', you might ask why...

Fact is the group mode is still "public" (you can see it when you're not logged in).

"(private)" is just a word to say well it's private (as in a private club where only ambs are allowed to join)

My 0.02 CA$.

ok, but if the conversations can be seen without logging in, then I assume the whole world can see it (as in everyone online, not just CS members who log in)?
It is not only visible to Ambassadors?, which makes it in fact not 'private', but a 'closed membership group', or something similar?

No the conversations are not visible when not logged in.

Why asking without trying ????

Yep it's not a private mode group but a "closed membership".

"private" in the name is just a simple word. IMHO "public" may have let some people think they can join it freely.

However I do agree some communication about it would have been far better.

Olivier, you said "Fact is...you can see it when you're not logged in". and ""(private)" is just a word to say well it's private (as in a private club where only ambs are allowed to join)"

So 1 - I was clarifying my understanding of your words - if you could see it while not logged in, then it's not very 'private'.
You seem to have now clarified that the group is visible when not logged in (thus visible to anyone), but the posts are not?

I was also wanting to know how it looks to non-Ambassadors logged into the site, which obviously I can't check.

Why did I not log-out-log-in to check and re-post? Because I had about 2 minutes to leave the house for work at the time and wanted to leave a clarification query - and suggest a better name than the ambiguous 'private' for the group- there and then.

And now my tea break is ending...

You are asking me to explain something you can check by yourselves just log out and see it ...

It took you more time to write all of this than to log out and see by yourself.

===> You're all lazy :)

Fact: The group mode haven't changed !
