should be nice to read directly from him Kieren don´t you think?
As this is a community based on reciprocal trust is quite strange that the CEO has an hidden profile!

No.

I appreciate your point of view Edward but there is not any !suspicious" or "attack" but just a normal question.

What a pity to read this kind of words!

what for you is so clear perhaps is not for me or for someone else.

Do you want to have the last word? You assume and suspect couple of things, should be better ask directly, don´t you think?

Hello
Tony replied to this question here (Discussion - Week 2) :

https://www.couchsurfing.org/group_read.html?gid=2125&post=14288458#post14291616

"My current profile is hidden because it's sole purpose is to post here
and to test the service, meaning the content, references, etc. on it are
from testing. Everyone who works at the company needs multiple profiles
in order to test the features. There are many reasons why members
aren't allowed duplicate profiles, but the key point here is that I am
not just a member, I'm also an employee".

Thank you Daniel.

In my opinion this explanation crash with CS´ basestones (if he needs a profile to test why don´t create an alternative one; if he doesn´t want to receive private messages simply block this possibility etc etc).

Reading that someone is "more equal than others" seesm to be a contradiction even for the CS Terms of Use.

I´m not able to ask to him directly because he has an hidden profile!

Is not an accusation just to understand why CS CEO use an hidden profile..if everybody will do that....CS will die due of couchrequest´s lack.....

Basically I always thought that transparency is the best way to manage everything....

A very useful search you could have done in minutes by yourself if you were more interested in finding accurate information and less interested in questioning the motives of someone who has been more open and direct than any CEO I've ver met.

Honestly, I'm glad CS has the ability to hide profiles. I can only imagine the idiotic and accusatory emails Tony must have gotten before he hid his profile.

I've been highly critical of the new CS myself, and at times, I've realized it's been too much. So I decided that I specifically, and we generally, need to stop looking at everything and trying to find some conspiracy. Yes, CS is now for profit. If you don't like it, too bad. It's not going to change. So put in the time to try and make it work within your own values, or find another place to hang your hat. If you think by constantly criticizing and pounding on the CEO and the employees is going to make them wake up one morning and say, "Yup! We should go back to being an organization with no money and no ability to modernize and make things better" then you are in a dream world.

So you have a decision to make.

Sometimes, people really ARE good people. Although I don't know him, I get the feeling Tony is. And I've met, via email, in person, and over the phone, other employees of the new organization, all of whom are genuinely nice people trying very hard to make this work.

These are not boogeymen and women. And if you want to be honest, they've been FAR more open than Casey ever was.

I don´t know Michael why you wrote to me in this way that seem aggressive.
Where in my post I´ve wrote what you´ve said?

If you think that is good for a member to hide his profile especially if is an employee of this Community is your opinion that has to be repected as the opposite one.

If everyone hide their profile this Community collapse and with that their job too.

I still think that transparency is the best way to manage CS
