Well dont know if this suggestion has to do with Events or not.. but i wish if Events can be Verified before being posted.. Like the same is done when we need to send Invitation via Old Event page.

As there is rise in SPAM events.. Infact they are created weekly and we being a ambassador has no power to act against it.. except FLAG it.. and even in that it has hardly helped me to delete the Spam Event..

For Example
https://www.couchsurfing.org/n/events/property-exhibition-at-for-bungalow-plot-s-thane?place_id=mumbai-maharashtra-india#

Infact today when i posted a message on this SPAM EVENT saying "CS Members are requested to FLAG this Event as SPAM"

and in few minutes (no even 10 mins) i received a mail from CS saying my Post is Hide from the Event as someone Flag it as off topic :)

So this is really an Amazing example of how non cs event works.

I wish if we had some extra Power or weightage in Flag.

now i have reported about it to support department.. so lets see what happens.. but a solution is needed to stop SPAM EVENT.

i Agree with you Sir .....

1. Full Profile...
2. Some verification Code System to confirm if the event is created by that person only.
3. One can create events only if he has got some experience in CS, like
a. Attend alteast 3-4 CS event in past or
b. Minimum 3 Vouches or
c. Minimum 5 Positive References

this will help to eliminate the users who join CS only to promote their commercial event or spam event.

d. If the person has more then 3-4 Negative References then we cannot create any Event

Some restriction should be ruled so that the new person knows what exactly CS is and its not a platform for commercial event...

Normally i have seen that many of this Commercial Events and Spam Events are created by new members who hardly have no friends, no reference, no vouches.

Even if the Even can be termed as CS event but the person should have vouched and references for the safetly of attending members.

I hope you getting my point.

Great to see that the Spam Event is Delete..

but its not fair that they hide my post coz someone flag it as off topic :(

Requesting Members to use Flag system for Spam Event is a off topic post ;(

And i feel it was flagged by the Event Organiser itself... I hope some action is taken against such person too.

Another Suggestion with regard to the Event and Old Event page.

Option to receive Post/comments on the Event.

Like in old event there is no such option of comments.. which is something a good option :)

i have seen someone created event and someone else suggested something and took away the event to another place.. leaving the original organiser :(

And the issue was the place is too far for some members.. and hence they changes the venue in comment.. which is not a good idea.

Why disturb someone else event... if the member feels the venue is far for him then he can create another event as he feels so.. why try to change the original event.

Like i organise the regular event on Tuesday with the name T3M, but good we are using the OLD event system, so there is no option to comment and disturb our regular event.

So if there can be option to which a Organiser can allow comments or not to allow any comments on his event.
