Updating your ambassador status
Posted March 9th, 2011 - 1:02 pm by from Perth, Australia (Permalink)
Hi all,

I believe that a few people are still having trouble updating your ambassador status to the new system.

Until you have updated your status with the new Ambassador Dashboard your ambassador flag won't be visible on your profile.

To update your status please follow these steps.

1. Go to the new Ambassador Dashboard
If you are having trouble with this, please send a CUQ to the AST.

2. Click on the Change Status link on the left.

This will open a new sub-page for you

3. Select the ambassador type that best matches your current situation

4. Once you have selected your ambassaor type, hit the submit button at the bottom of the sub-page.

This should now register your ambassador status on the new ambassador system and your ambassador flag should now be visible.

If you have any problems with this, please let us know.

Cheers,
Daniel

For the people having trouble with the new dashboard, I have been asked to check that everyone does not have javascript disabled on their internet browsers.

Also it might help hitting refresh (Ctrl + R) when on the dashboard screen.

While these might not be the solution, it might help a number of you for now.

I am just raising this post again.

Quite a few members are now noticing that their flags are not visible.
Please share this information with other ambassadors, and if people want to make a translation and post it here, please feel free.

Hi Daniel:
I already read all the tutorials and answered each quiz correctly and I tried several times to change my Ambassador status with no success. When I submit the chosen status it says "Please verify data". I tried with Safari and Internet Explorer.
Any suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Alejandra

Hi Will,

This is a known bug and hopefully we will get it fixed very soon.
In the mean time I can say that I have not had any trouble while using chrome. So if it is an option for you, you might want to try that browser.
Otherwise we will have to wait until the tech team fixes the problem.

I have a related question, please. I recently moved, and I wanted to change my address and get verified. When I was going to do that, I got a warning: if you change your address you will no longer be an Ambassador!!

That made sense when I was a country ambassador, but then I got my status changed to traveling, and now I would like to be a city ambassador or traveling, does not matter, but I do not want to lose the status if I verify my new address!! I am proud to have been a very active CS Ambassador for 4 years now, and obviously I do not want to lose my flag.

What is the trick to solve this?
Thanks!
Maria

The trick is;

1) change your ambassador type to "Traveling"
2) change your profile location
3) change back to being a city ambassdaor for the new region
