journalist visiting budapest in december, looking for friends, and insider's tips
I'm a travel journalist coming to Budapest for a story for KLM Airlines. Though the definite dates are not decided yet, my visit will be in december. I'd love to get some local insights before I go, and perhaps find some people to meet or hang out with when I'm actually there.
I'm a writer and photographer, and even though on this trip I will be joined by another photographer so my focus would be on the text, I'd still be interested if some of you can share some of your favorite - and original - angles on the city. Perhaps an unusual vantage point, be it from a hill, the top of a building or just a street window. Or just a great building that deserves more attention, or a great place for people watching... that sort of thing.
I've been to Budapest before, though it has been a while. If you have any suggestions for my research: addresses, websites, knowledgeable people for the hip, happening and the luxurious (it's a business traveler magazine I work for this time after all) let me know. If you know anything beside the obvious, anything new, anything (relatively) undiscovered: drop me a line if you can find the time.
And if you want to hang out, have a coffee or simply take a walk through a favorite neighborhood of yours.... I promise I'm good company!
