Tips and loops for traveling South Asia
Posted September 27th, 2012 - 12:15 am by from Chiang Mai, Thailand (Permalink)
hi guys,

I'm planning my trip around South Asia for next Jan, I'll have approximately 4/5 months to travel around and to find volunteer projects I can join on my way, possibly trying to skip all expensive agency's fees behind that.

I'm looking forward for a trip that can be a good combination of history, culture and nature: interesting cities, wild landscapes, mountains and beaches. Not really looking for tourist things, although sometimes that can be also nice.

I'm writing here as I'd like to understand which can be the best and convenient loop i should follow. I need to buy my multi-stop flight ticket, but i'd like to avoid as much I can moves by flight as I prefer getting from a country to another by land or maybe slow boat.
I don't want to make a fixed plan but it might be a good idea having some itinerary plan in mind. I can always change it but at the least I can roughly check how should move from a place to an other.

It will be great if you can give me some suggestions about a possible loop and info about cool and less tourist places I should not miss.

Here all countries I'd love to visit in this time: Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Malasya, Indonasia, China and not necessarily in this order :)

Thanks for your tips and help!!
