Travelling from Riga to Tallinn and back
Posted February 28th, 2013 - 7:54 am by from Be'er Sheva, Israel (Permalink)
I'm going to a conference near Tallinn in April and decided to fly in and out of Riga for the event. I'll most likely seek out a host for the nights I'm in Riga, but I wanted to ask if it's a good idea to book travel by bus or train between the two cities in advance or if it's fine to just show up and grab the next bus available?

I've got roughly 24 hours to get between the cities on either end of the trip. Enough time to see anything (or drink anything) unusual?

First of all, forget about taking a train between Riga and Tallinn. There's one train a day and it takes eight hours. As for the bus - booking in advance is not a bad idea, but I suppose you can do without it.

OK, that's a good tip to know. I had found information on both but the bus definitely looked like a better and faster option.

Thanks for the advice.

Booking the bus ahead can get you a much better price.
