Share an apartment from the end of march?
Posted January 31st, 2011 - 12:50 pm by from Stockholm, Sweden (Permalink)

I'm moving to Tokyo by the end of march. I'd like to share an apartment and am aiming to get a rent around 40000 Y per person. I'm gonna go to a language school in Shin-Okubo, so the place shouldn't be too far from there.

If you have an extra room or if you are also looking for an apartment and want to share, please contact me!

Hi Leo

I'm also looking for a room in Tokyo about the same time as you; I'll be studying at Sophia University from April. I don't speak a word of Japanese (yet!) and I really don't know how to go about renting an apartment in Japan, so I'm just searching for available rooms. But, if you find an apartment and need a flatmate, let me know! I see that we share an interest in cinema, comic books and vegetarian food :-)

Good luck to you!

Hi Leo and Hanne,

Me and a Philippine guy found a good place in Takadanobaba, 12min from JR station and 8 min from Tosai station. 171,000yen per month. 3LDK with rooms of 3.4jo 4.2jo 6jo and 10.5jo living room. 1jo =1.6562 m2. Initial cost is about 370,000yen split by three ppl. It is a good location and cheap place for what it is. We are looking for a third roommate.

I believe it's in a good neighbour and access area. Although it's a bit pricey and rooms are not huge, the living room is decent size :) We had difficult time to find an apartment without agency commission and key money, to which this apartment is applicable.

If any of you are interested, don't hesitate to message me! Pix are available if you want some.

Kentaro, that sounds great! The price, size and location are all good! I would like to know a little more about some things though. Firstly, what does the initial cost cover, and is part of it refundable? Secondly, are you living there now, when can I move in? :) And lastly, it would be great to see some pictures! :)

Hanne, I would probably be happy to share an apartment with you, and I know of a few. However, the apartment that Kentaro is talking about sounds really good, so I would like to see if it works out first.

Thanks for replying, hope to hear from you both!
