Looking for a room in Shimokitazawa
Posted July 11th, 2011 - 3:33 am by from Bangkok, Thailand (Permalink)
Hi,
I'm an American who is living in Ikenoue/Higashikitazawa area(less than 15 mins to Shimokitazawa by foot) looking for a new place to move in around mid-August.

I'm staying in Tokyo until February for sure, with the possibility of staying longer.
I'm looking for a place in the area(Ikenoue or Shimokitazawa) for less than 50,000 a month with no reikkin ideally, sharing with another person or two(so 2LDK I don't mind a small room(I'm from NY so I'm used to tiny ratholes haha) as long as the common space(living room and kitchen) are big. I'd prefer that the bedrooms don't share a wall directly(maybe closet space in between?) since the walls in Tokyo tend to be rather thin and I can hear everything in my current room.

I've seen 2LDK being advertised for 75,000(with 1 month reikkin) in my neighborhood real estate but since I'm not sure I can commit to the 2 year contract in Tokyo, I couldn't sign the lease but if someone is looking for a place in the area and staying for at least 2 years, please let me know, maybe we can search for something together.

Thank you,
Raphaela

My place listed above is still open. Sorry rent might be high for you at 75,000 + utils (no reikin) out of a total of 170,000. Its just a share with me (bedrooms don't share a wall), but the room price is about right for market value. Let me know if you are interested! :)

Hi Ben, thanks for the information. Yea, your price is the market value, which unfortunately is above my budget. I'll keep searching!
