Learning Norwegian
Posted November 25th, 2012 - 7:28 pm by from Kristiansand, Norway (Permalink)
Hi Guys,

I have just moved to Kristiansand (well two months ago) and I am having difficulties learning Norwegian. The main problems are that I have always found languages difficult (can barely speak my own language English LOL) and therefore picking up Norwegian isn't natural. Also I have a full time job which is all in English so I don't here a lot of Norwegian. Finally as my job is full time I have found I don't have time to go to the set Norwegian courses that are offered in town.

So I was wondering if any of you guys are or know anyone who is offering a few one on one course to help me kick start Norwegian or know any information that will help me!!

I really want to learn Norwegian, would be silly not to while I live here!

Thanks Friends,

Toby

Toby, Hi. I have some resources to help you.

First, check out Benny's http://www.fluentin3months.com/

it is not very "commercial", alot of free stuff. Here's a Norge specific link:

http://www.fluentin3months.com/forum/my-language-mission/mission-conversational-norwegian-by-the-end-of-october/

Catch up with a fellow Uk'er in Norway here: http://www.lifeinnorway.net/category/learn-norwegian

Some dude's blog about learning the language whilst in norway:
http://musingopiningandcriticising.blogspot.com/

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Yourself-Norwegian-Complete-Package-Language/dp/0071451137

If all this doesn't help, take heart; they say the universe will implode by the end of the month... HURRAH!
Lykke til! Cheers!
