Hiking and Interrailing in May 2013

Hey guys!

So I'm planning to make an Interrail trip this spring/summer and I thought about coming to Romania as a part of the trip. I'm a really outgoing person and I love hiking and trekking so I would like to do some of that while I'm there. Because I'm interrailing, I naturally don't have enough space to carry a tent, cooking gear, ice hooks and stuff like that with me, so I'm looking for tips about good one-day-hikes.

Mostly I'm interested about summitting the highest peak, Moldoveanu, but my concern is that if I'm thinking about hiking to the peak in May (sometime between 22nd and 28th of may) do I need winter gear, ice hooks etc? The second choise I thought about is Vânatoarea lui Buteanu and the third one Retezat National park and Peleaga.

So now I'm really looking for good tips and suggestions which one I should choose :) And are those easily accessible by train and what are the accommodation possibilities nearby? Are there well marked trails to take and are they doable in a day? Thanks!
