2 month Media/Marketing internship available
I run a non-profit transmedia "company" called The Busking Project — www.thebuskingproject.com
Three of us couchsurfed our way around the world to film street performers. The idea is to create a global artistic revolution, getting more people out on the streets, more spots open to busk, fewer restrictions, support for artists...all done while celebrating the art itself.
Check out our promo video which pretty-much sums up 10 months of travelling, 300 performers, 40 cities, 5 continents, and all in 2 minutes: This Happens Every Day
I say "company" because at the moment it's just a few volunteers at the moment (including me). Actually, I don't know if there's a word for someone who paid for the right to volunteer, but it might be something like "fool". I'm calling myself "Director", though.
I'm in Vancouver until July 2nd helping you set up the 2nd Vancouver International Busker Festival. They've hired me to make it make the VIBF look amazing. There's no real budget, but we're thinking we can pay interns $250/m with the chance of bonuses if this thing is profitable.
At the least you're going to have an amazing time working with us. You'll get good experience, work with street performers (in other words, have fun with clowns, jugglers, musicians, circus performers, freak shows etc etc), we'll keep close records of your work for your portfolio, and if it all works out this will become an annual thing, and you could get a solid job out of it.
We're making promos, doing film shoots, getting photos, putting on a clown invasion, doing events and creating the less exciting stuff of website content, press releases and so on. If this sounds like your cup of tea, let's do it :)

If you're not interested in the internships, perhaps you just want to join us for a bit of experience. Regardless of your skills, as long as you have access to a computer and want to improve street arts worldwide, we have work for you to do :)
Thanks, and send the message along to anyone else you think might be interested. Cheers!
