Good job hunting websites?

Hello!
I'm coming to Vancouver in January and will be in need of some moneys. I've heard Craigslist is a good website to look for jobs. Can anyone recommend any others? I've heard wildly contradictory things about the job situation in Vancouver.. I'm pretty much just hoping to get a job in retail or service. Cafe, bar, shops etc. Can anyone offer any advice? It would be much appreciated :)
Thanks!
Alice

Vancouver's a weird place to find work. Sometimes it's easy and other not so much... Most of the jobs I've found have come through a personal connection. If you know anyone living here that will be your best bet. See who they know and get the word out that you're looking. Haha, I guess that's the same principle as couch surfing.

I've never used craigslist but I've heard the employers can get hundreds of email for their postings. I've actually had success using Linked In but that's for more career type jobs.

There are other websites to use in Canada, monster.ca, workopolis.com, and for hospitality jobs hcareers.ca is good too.

Another good option is a temp agency or a work placement service. I have a friend that just found a job this way. Worked for her, might work for you.

Cheers and good luck!
