Hi everybody. I've already visited lots of places in Ukraine so i will try to share my experience. After Lviv and Lytsk go to Kamenetz-Podolsk, there is a beautiful and ancient castle in the center of city. And not far from Kamenetz-Podolsk you can find one more ancient place - Hotin, there also a big castle at the bank of the river.
I also can advice you to see Bukovel in the west part of Ukraine, its one of the best ski resort in Europe.
Sure Kiev.
Maybe Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, but check on Google, it depends what you are looking for.
Sure Krimea - Sevastopol, Fiolent, Balaklava, Yalta, Semeiz, Noviy Svet (!!!), Sudak.
Have a good trip

You may like the nature around Luhansk.

I'm currently staying in Kyiv because of job. But in the summer I sometimes visit my hometown too and possibly even can accommodate you there.

For sure!!! So you live in Luhanks right ??

Hi There!

I'm originally from Argentina but I live in France.
It's been quite a long time I've been meaning to visit Ukraine but I'm still discouraged by some people who claim it's a dangerous country (some say I may get mugged or something even worse). Can you locals or people who know the country well tell me whether that's true, please?
I would also like to spend some months in Kiev to learn Russian.

I'd be glad to join you Marek! When are you going there?

Hey Max :)

I tell you one thing. I went to Mikolajiv ( what is in the south of UA last summer ). It took me 3 days on train. And I was traveling alone. And I must tell you, there was nothing dangerous.
People on train was really nice. Yes of course you can be unlucky and meet some bad but its not very common .. because I changed 2 trains and on none was a bad person. I remember we stopped once for longer ( about 20 mins ) and I went from the train - left all my packages on train ( just took my wallet and things like this from my place ) and nobody jsut touched it! :)
And on the trainstations .. Right. I felt really safe because for example in Lviv there were many police men. And also .. nobody tried to steal anythign from me ( but for sure - be carefull in trainstation - i think if you get into the crowd in any big trainstation - anywhere in the word - you must be carefull! I am sure you know it! :) )
I think Ukraine is safe or dangerouse same as another countries in Europe :)
But surely I can say its not so dangerouse as many people also in Slovakia says .. :)

So dont be afraid .. but for sure be carefull :) dont believe everybody and think twice before you decide what to do :)

btw : I would like you to join my trip ;)

Hey Marek!

Thanks for your answer. It's really reassuring to hear that what I've been told is simply a misconception.
Anyways I will do my best to join you guys on the trip to Ukraine this summer :) I already liked the group on facebook and am part of it.

We keep in touch!
All the best by now ;)

I understand your fear, Max. It is naturally for each person. That is one of the reasons why I have not been in other countries yet:(
Many people says it is very dangerous, especially for young girls... Besides, there is a great risk to be robbed and cheeted. I know, that risk exists everywhere, but it is more dangerous when you don't know local language and rights of that country.
What can you say about it, my friends? Can you share your experience and similar situations?

Posted February 15th, 2014 - 9:55 am by from Paris, France (Permalink)
I appreciate your answer Valentyna :)
I think I just have to be cautious but I shouldn't think about it being dangerous that much cuz otherwise I'd never visit your country (which would be a pity as I've always wished so). I grew up in Argentina, in a quite dangerous city, and when I go back there to visit my family I have to admit I don't feel safe at all even tho I know the language & the culture very well.

Yes, if we would think about it every day and mintune, we will have a GREAT paranoia:):) So, we won't travel at all in the future, that is why we won't meet any new friends, so we will be lonely, then we will cause troubles, because we would be sick and osessed about our loneliness, so we will die young...
:)I am joking;)
Sorry for my mad imagination:) Do not take it seriously:) I am just bored))
Have a nice day:)

I plan to visit Ukraine in March: Kyiv & odessa, any advices or suggestion, plz ...?

Posted February 22nd, 2014 - 8:51 am by from Puchov, Slovakia (Permalink)
Before you go to visit, check the actual situation because these days it is changing every hour or everyday. Especially if you plan to visit Kiev. :-)
And some another suggestions.. Hmm maybe that you can visit Lviv. It's really nice city.. I was there and I must say is super pretty. And they have there the best chocolate in Ukraine. In Odessa I was just in train station.. So I don't know much about the city.
But maybe one important advice. The trains are super cheap in Ukraine, so if you have a chance travel by train :-)

Enjoy your trip man and I hope when you are in Ukraine, the situation will be well already.
