Hi,

sounds nice - I have no idea if I will be in Austria when it takes places and I am superbusy (don´t ask why) right now, but I might be able to help with the organisation.

Let me know about the next meeting, please ;-)

Thank you Doris

Werner and i are going to join this event to learn what we can about sustainability (when i mentioned the fest he actually asked me "what is sustainability?"). We need all the help we can get. I looking forward to Discussion Workshops to exchange ideas of what simple things we can do in our daily lives to improve our lives as a whole.

Perhaps we can have some kind of a guest book or board where people can enter (in divided sections) their personal tips, veggie/vegan recipes, shops that support sustainability, etc... and then when the fest is over it can be made into a booklet or blog or something?

Unfortunately, i come up with ideas i have absolutely no time to execute. Sorry. :(

Thanks for your input, Lucy! That's a great idea! :-)

Maybe you have time to join the next monthly meeting on the 20th of July, we will discuss about sustainability and our expectations already. At the summerfest we will cook only vegan and thought also of having a collection of recipes.

For the 'Vienna Calling' Couchsurfing festival in 2011 we made a vegan picnic and created a booklet with all the recipes. Have a look at:

Thanks for the link, Veronica! They all look goooood!
And thanks for inviting me to the next meeting. I would like to join but i'm entertaining visitors this week. Where and when is the meeting? If there's a chance i can make it i will. Is there any information yet about paying for the weekend? Looking forward to the next update.

yeah thx for your input lucie,

I think it´s good to make a short introduction presentation about the topic of sustainability and after a discussion, followed by some workshops.

unfortunatelly I cannot be part of the monthly meeting this friday.

Posted July 19th, 2012 - 11:24 pm by from Vienna, Austria (Permalink)
I can't make the meeting as i suspected, but i'm on board with your ideas. Just keep me informed and if i have any more ideas or suggestions i'll be sure to let you know.

Hello everybody!

As we are still preparing and organising the activities for the sustainable summerfest please contact me if you would like to hold a workshop. So far we have some "do it yourself", handcrafts, dancing, art,... workshops planned. We are still looking for some volunteers to hold discussion workshops about topics which are connected to "sustainability". Also we thought of showing some documentaries and combine it with discussions,so if you would like to lead a discussion round and can think of an interesting documentary feel free to suggest some ideas.

If you want to hold a workshop please send me a short description (only a few lines that we can put in the program) about the workshop. We also have some money available for workshop materials. Please contact me until the end of this week so that we can put up the complete program.

Cheers!

Hi. We paid up yesterday. Would you kindly post the train scenerio [again]. Where we meet and at what time, the cost and duration of the journey... and anything else that might be helpful in getting us there. Thanks!

Great. Thanks for the info. I received it 4x's today. Is there some difference between the 1st time and the 4th time?
I invited a couple of friends to join us, i hope that is OK. They haven't replied yet, so they may not be able to make it, but i thought i'd ask.

Hi,

is anyone else planning to sleep in a tent? I was thinking of taking my small tent, but only if there is someone else also sleeping outside. Otherwise I'll join you in the hut. Not that I'm afraid from the dark, it's just more sociable. :))

Sorry for the late notice.

See you all tomorrow,
Filip

Thanks to everybody who was part of this wonderful weekend!! I enjoyed it very very much and feel more relaxed. I think this week will be a good one for me with all the positive energy and memories I have from the summerfest! :-) Looking forward seeing the pics and of course seeing you again!

:-) We can even make more 'Tachentuchtascherl' at the next 'do it yourself/sewing group' meeting :-) and we could also plan a trip to visit Haschahof on bikes in September.

Werner and I had a blast! Thanks to you all. Pics to come... (I'm not the most organized so don't hold your breath). The pics that are up are great!

I like anything that has to do with Taschentuchtascherl! and the Bio farm sounds like fun too. Keep us posted.

Speaking of UNorganized... i meant to give you all a copy of the KreativReisen Oesterreich booklet with cool creative things to do in Austria and i left them in the dining room of the Hut sunday morning (with my favorite hairclip!) I have more copies of the booklet, but i don't have another favorite hairclip... any chance i (or someone) can contact the hut and see if anyone there wants to send it to me if it was discovered? If not, no worries. Just thought i'd ask... for sustainable reasons, of course. They can keep the booklets. :)

I'll bring the booklets the next time i see you guys... hopefully, soon. Thanks again!

Dear friends!

AMAZING PICTURES!! What a pleasure to see such a great group of cool people having a good and sustainable time together!
I must admit I am very jealous and a bit sad I could not participate, even more because I spent so many wonderful days at Schacherhof with the Pioneers of Change 2 years ago!
Anyway, congratulations again, I am so proud of you :-)

I have recently celebrated 11 months on the road and it is now official: I will travel until a few days before Christmas, then fly back to Italy. Until then I have more than 10.000 km to travel, only by bus and boat: I will be in Amazonia in around 10 days, then heading north to Venezuela, Colombia and I will probably finish my trip in Panama. So I wont make it to Vienna this year, but definitely in 2013!

Big hugs, peace & love from Sao Luis, the Brazilian capital of reggae music (basically 24-hour non-stop music everywhere you are!)

Massi

PS: short news from other Sustainable Couch groups:
- in Lima they recently organised the 2nd Free Box night and it was a success.
- the Berlin group met again and has huge plans for the future and they will start regular monthly meetings from September
- in Bratislava they organise regularly Free Box evening.
-...and the Vienna Sustainability Group, well, it is simply the best, eheh ;-))
