I`d like so much to take photos of Sandy, but I`d not recommend going out of home to do so. It seems things are going to get very ugly: power outages, falling trees, flood (I read the sea level can rise up to 3.4 meters), etc. Here at columbus circle even the Apple Store has barricaded the store with sandbags and taken the products away.

So, I think that when the storm comes it will be too dangerous to get out of home. The best way to photograph would be to find an apartment/hotel room high enough for you to take the photos and then stay sheltered for the rest of the time.
