Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for nice bars with indie, or even wants to meetup at such a place in the near future?

Cheers,
Henrik

Hey Aidan!
Yeah, I have done some ground work now so I can take you to a few decent bars for sure! Lets catch up when you get here and we can meetup for drinks discussing la liga vs. premier league while listening to broken social scene.
Looking forward to meet you.

Cheers,
Henrik

Hi Henrik,
Barcelona is not like London or others European cities. It's not easy to find good music in a pub.. even for me that I am from here... If you don't know the city, you can finish in Maremagnum dancing rubbish music...Horrible!! My favorite place for indie music and electro is Apolo in Paral.lel tube Station. Razzmataz is good too. However, if you don't like big venues, then look for Fantàstico, Sidecar or Magic..
We could meetup when you fancy.
Welcome to my land!!

Hi Nuria!
I live very close to the apollo so thats usually where me and my mates end up on a late night. I like it :) I have found some nice bars conveniently close to there as well. One bar that I like in particular is the cassette bar in raval, every time I set my foot there music has been great! Am in Sweden at the moment but lets catch up when I get back!

Hasta luego,
Henrik

Hey girl!

As you've read here i recommend you to go to this places too! And there's a little music "festival" going on these days too. It's only two days (27th and 28th of july), 4 concerts, in Poble Espanyol. It's organized by the Primavera Sound, it's the first time they do it. Unfortunately, only the people who went there can buy the whole ticket, but if you like you can buy one day ticket. I let you here some info:

http://www.poble-espanyol.com/pemsa/ca/01-el-poble/concerts-estiu/festival-fly.html

And maybe in the clubs there are concerts too. In Fantastico bar this july every thursday plays a band in acoustic. They use to be not knowing bands from here. Here is the adress:

http://www.conciertosbarcelona.es/concierto/ESPERIT-A-VIVA-VEU-EN-FANTSTICO/5256.php

Then, sometimes there are concerts in Apolo at night, but not these days. Or in razzmatazz too. You can check here the programs:

http://www.sala-apolo.com/home.asp?pag=1
http://www.salarazzmatazz.com/

Razzmatazz is bigger than Apolo, but was better years ago in my opinion, now in summer it's full of tourists. Maybe in Apolo sometimes it depends on the dj they play more oldies, and in Razzmatazz more classics of indie music. I prefer Apolo now, but this is up to you! :) But this two are expensive, they cost 15 euros.

Then it depends on the day they are special parties. You can go to Sidecar in plaça reial, on wednesdays it's cheaper, i went once i didn't like because it was empty but i think know it's better. Or to Apolo for free on thursdays, they play 80's, you can get free tickets in a bar next to it called Cosmos. It's one of the cheapest bars to drink too.

And then there are lots of bars you can go! Near Macba, or near plaça Reial there is a good one, Manchester. (C/ Valldonzella 40 (Raval) and C/ Milans 5 (Barrio Gótico).

Ok!!! That's all! I can go on writing! But i hope you find something interesting! Hahahahaha!! Have fun! If you have more questions ask me! :)

See you!
Laura

I arrive on Friday night (22nd) and will go to my new apartment near Urgell metro....I hope however to go out as soon as I arrive and get a feel for the nightlife.

I would love to try somewhere like Cassette, Apollo, Manchester or Razzmatazz if anybody is up for it.

Hey Aiden/Henrik/Everyone,

I'm new here in Barcelona too. I've noticed a lot of indie-esq bars in barrio gotico but i'd like to try out some new ones. I've been to Razzmatazz before and had a great tine. Anyway Aiden I'm very close to Urgell as well. I'd love to meet up sometime with you and Henrik and anyone else interested to try out some new spots.

Send me a message and maybe we can organize something!

Sounds like a plan! I live fairly close to Urgell as well, we could meet around Sant Antoni or something and make a tour through the hidden corners of Raval.. Whatever, whenever, let me know, I'm easy.
Cheers
