DOHA or DUBAI ?
Posted March 18th, 2013 - 4:01 am by from Bangkok, Thailand (Permalink)
I'm planning to go for a trip around July and my tickets can choose stops between DOHA or DUBAI for a couple of days. I want to see culture and architecture of the middle east and lifestyle of people there but not the shopping and entertainment. Any recommendations of places to go or what to do there?

thanks a lot :)

hello dharath
doha will be extremely expensive for you, besides that you will not be able to see culture, the same for dubai, but still you can see some actions there;... but i did not like it when i was visiting, and its cheaper than doha
cheaper than doha but 5 times as the expenses in bangkok; an important tip while visiting dubai is not to take a taxi because it will make you cry from what are you going to pay, but at doha... i went mad when i was looking at the taxi meter, just to make a comparison; taxis in doha are 15 times more than taxis in bangkok.
dubai is always full of activities, but be careful because couchsurfing web site is not working in the emirates, it's banned from the government, so if you are going to be hosted in dubai (almost impossible), take the mobile number of your host and call him/her 2 days before you go to emirates to get sure that they will host you, but if you are planning to stay in a hotel; then it's a different story
enjoy your stay

Dubai has soooooooo much more to offer than Doha. But what the UAE offers than Qatar doesn't is an opportunity to see other places than the capital. In the event you get bored in Dubai (unlikley) you could visit Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and countless other places.
