Walk the city on Wednesday 2nd (opening day)

Hi guys,

I am arriving at Wednesday 2nd June before noon by plane. I will make a quick stop at my host, Roman. After this, around maybe 1pm, I would like to use the open Wednesday (Vienna Calling only starts with the Wednesday evening party) to start to get to know the city.

Last weekend (friday evening to monday morning) I was in Warsaw for the CS Camp there (of course smaller than VC) and had a blast. But as a first time visitor I didnt see enough of Warsaw. Now, in Vienna, I have 5 full days BUT as there are way more activities than in Warsaw Camp, I really wanna try to see a lot of the city (so far, I only spend one complete day there).

Who of you is already in town that afternoon to hang out and check out some local sights? Right now, I am not at all prepared about what to see in Vienna. If there is any Vienna CSer with plenty of time to show me and a possible small group around, it would be fantastic if you answer here.

Are there any kind of organized walking tours available and are they recommended?

See you in exactly one week from now

I'll be in Vienna then and am up for a walk around the city, but this will be my first time in Vienna so we should find a local CSer to come with or else it will be the blind leading the blind.

I'd like to show you around. At the moment I don't know if I'll be free on wednesday but there will be a possibility for sure during the Vienna Calling.

Maybe thursday would be better because on wednesday I've to work and thursday I'm free.

perfect... what could be a good meeting point and meeting place for our small improvised city tour?

Maybe we can bribe the Organizer and even become a "official meeting event"???

I am most interested to see the main touristy sights on wednesday before the main parties start.

I'm also interested in a walking tour/CS rampage. I want to do art museum(s) as well (maybe in the morning, if this will take place in the afternoon?) and would be glad of company for that.

how much time do we need?
Maybe we can walk from 14.00 to 18.00? Is that maybe to much time? As I said, I would be MOST HAPPY to get a taste of the tourist interesting sights before the main event.

meeting at 2pm would be perfect!
