Information on short term car insurance
Posted May 16th, 2012 - 1:44 pm by from Melbourne, Australia (Permalink)
I was wondering if there was anyone that would be able to give me information on short term car insurance. I'm looking at buying a car in Vancouver and driving it for 3 months across Canada and Alaska.

Being an Australian tourist I'm pretty sure that I can drive on my Australian license for the 3 months.

It looks like its going to be difficult to get with me not having a fixed address or being a Canadian citizen. Will the insurance be covered in Alaska? Any recommendations on insurance companies?

Cheers Lauren

That would be great. Thanks heaps. I'm going to get a letter from my current car insurer showing that I havnt made a claim the years that I have been driving. I don't know if that will help any with getting insurance but it can't hurt.

My grandma has just past away and I have managed to track her cousin down that she was close to. I plan on catching up with her while in Vancouver. I will ask her if she would mind if I used her address.

Cheers

Have you looked at long term rentals/leasing? Might be easier as a non-resident.
