Ahoi game freaks!
I'm glad I found this group. I am looking for a carrom game to use. Is there a place in Reykjavík where I can get a used one?
It would be even better if somebody had the necessary equipment to make one, so if you have saws, hammers, emery paper and so on, I would appreciate if you let me potter about with it =)
Winning wishes, Eleonora

Hi,

We dont have any but I advise you to contact spilavinir spilavinir.is and check if they have. They are the game shop in Reykjavík.

I dont have the tools to make one. When do you need to make it? We are going to open a game center soon and I think it would be a nice project to build games there. Check this post http://www.couchsurfing.org/group_read.html?gid=9651&post=7028930 and let me know if you are interested.

Good luck,
filipa

Olá Filipa

thanks for the tip, I've contacted them, maybe they know if there's a carrom-group in Rvk!

It's a cool idea to make your own games in the center. I love to do it, maybe I will join you there for some easier small games. I made a lot of games, maybe you can have DIY-workshops there at some point...

I need a place that can get dirty (wood, paint) and where nobody is sensitive to noise (drilling and hammering) - since I love big wooden games like carrom or sjoelbak I need a lot of space, tools and air because of the the varnish. I guess there will be small kids at that center and they shouldn't breathe the fumes.

But maybe I'm lucky and I can get a second hand game.
Keep it posted about the center please, once it's open...I'd drop by and have a look.

Enjoy gaming

Hi,

I heard there is a workshop in Vesturgata that make all kind of handwork inclusing games like hnefatafl. Maybe you can find this shop and check what are the possibilities to build your game there.

Thanks for the ideas. Keep an eye on this group and we can meet at the center next week or so.

kv,
filipa
